This is what summer should feel like.

Days outside. Salt water in your hair. New places, new skills, and friends you did not know on Monday and do not want to leave by Friday.

  • What ACA and First Aid mean for you

Our kayak guides are trained to the standards of the American Canoe Association, one of the most established paddlesports bodies in the world: technique, rescue, group leadership and decisions when conditions change. Every guide also holds a current first aid certificate. You are led by trained professionals, not just good paddlers.

  • Why ISO certification matters

ISO 9001 is the international standard for quality management and ISO 14001 the standard for environmental management. Certification means the way we plan, run and review every activity, and the way we look after the coastline we work on, is written down, followed and checked by an independent auditor.

What makes this camp special

Jávea becomes the camp

There is no single field, classroom or sports hall. Our programme moves: beaches, coves, sea caves, coastal paths and different activity locations around Jávea become part of the experience. Children do not simply spend the summer beside the Mediterranean. They learn how to explore it.

These are real adventures, not watered-down activities designed to fill time. Children use kayaks, paddle boards, surfboards and snorkelling equipment, learn genuine techniques, visit real coastal locations and develop practical confidence in the outdoors. Kayaking, surfing, paddle boarding, snorkelling, coasteering, coastal exploration, hiking, games and marine education come together in one programme, so children discover activities they already love and often several they have never tried.

We do not believe children need to be constantly entertained. We believe they need opportunities to explore, try, fail, learn, laugh, make friends and discover what they are capable of.

What they'll experience

A different adventure every day

The exact programme changes through the summer according to the sea, the weather, the group and the conditions. That flexibility is intentional: our team chooses the strongest possible experience each day.

  • KayakingBasic paddling and kayak control, then out to discover Jávea from the water: hidden beaches, caves, snorkelling stops and team challenges.
  • Snorkelling & Marine DiscoveryPut on a mask and the Mediterranean becomes another world: fish, underwater landscapes and why healthy seas matter.
  • Stand-Up Paddle BoardingBalance, technique and a surprising amount of teamwork: calm-water expeditions, games, races and obstacle courses.
  • Surfing & BodyboardingWhen Jávea gives us waves, we make the most of them. Sometimes the lesson is standing up; sometimes it is falling off ten times and getting back on eleven.
  • Sea Cave ExplorationSome of Jávea’s most extraordinary places are hidden from the road: coastal caves and rock formations, where conditions and the programme allow.
  • Coasteering & Coastal AdventureFor appropriate groups and conditions: swimming, scrambling and supervised challenges through the rocky coast, with optional jumps where the guides allow.
  • Hiking & Nature ExplorationCoastal walks to viewpoints, trails and natural areas: endurance, and a closer look at Jávea’s landscape.
  • Giant SUPs & Water ChallengesTeam paddle boards, obstacle courses, water challenges, races and the games children remember most.
  • Beach Games & ChallengesTreasure hunts, relays, beach competitions and group games that keep everyone active and help new groups bond quickly.
  • Marine & Environmental LearningPosidonia, marine life, coastal ecosystems, rock formations and responsible behaviour, without turning summer into school.
  • Ocean Skills & Water ConfidenceAge-appropriate awareness of waves, wind, currents, swell, sea conditions and safe decision-making.
  • Adventure Games & ExplorationFlexible activities, challenges and spontaneous adventures based on the group and the conditions.
What a week looks like

No two weeks are exactly the same.

There is no point forcing a surfing session when there are no waves, or taking kayaks somewhere when another location offers better conditions. Our team adapts: the order of activities, the location, or the activity itself. The objective is not to tick boxes on a timetable. It is to create the best and safest adventure available that day.

  • One main adventure every morning
  • A second activity, challenge or game in the afternoon
  • Locations chosen for the day’s conditions
  • Small, consistent groups all week
  • Friday: camp day together, finishing at 15:00

Safety & professional care

Adventure, with professional care behind it

Parents are trusting us with something far more important than an activity. That responsibility shapes the programme.

  • Professionally Qualified Instructors

Activities are supervised by experienced instructors with relevant professional qualifications, including ACA paddlesports training and First Aid certification.

  • Small Supervision Ratios

Approximately 1 staff member for every 8 children, allowing closer supervision and better group management.

  • Insurance Included

Accident and public liability insurance are included as part of the camp.

  • Professional Safety Equipment

Activity-specific equipment is provided, including life jackets, flotation equipment and other required protective equipment.

  • First Aid, Hydration & Sun Protection

Teams carry First Aid equipment and actively manage hydration, sun exposure and basic outdoor welfare throughout the day.

  • Established Safety Procedures

Camp operations are supported by detailed Standard Operating Procedures and Emergency Response Procedures.

  • Built Around the Conditions

Weather, wind and sea conditions are assessed continuously. If the environment changes, so do we: the order of activities, the location or the activity itself.

What they gain

What stays with them

  1. Confidence Through Experience

A child who was nervous about the sea gets into a kayak. Someone who thought they could never stand on a surfboard catches a wave. Outdoor adventure gives repeated chances to discover “I can do this”, and that confidence travels home.

  2. Friendship & Social Development

Shared adventures create friendships quickly. Children communicate, cooperate, help each other, celebrate successes and occasionally solve problems together.

  3. Understanding the Ocean

Age-appropriate awareness of waves, wind, currents, swell, sea conditions and safe decision-making: skills that are useful far beyond camp.

  4. An International Community

Jávea brings together families from many countries. Children communicate, make friends and develop confidence with people they may never otherwise have met.

  5. Adventure Meets Education

When kayaking we talk about wind and currents; when snorkelling, marine ecosystems; when surfing, waves. Education without turning summer into school.

  6. Environmental Awareness

Marine life, Posidonia, coastal ecosystems and responsible behaviour become part of the conversation, by experiencing places worth protecting.

  7. Disconnect to Reconnect

Hours outside, moving, talking, laughing and exploring. Instead of watching somebody else’s adventure on a screen, they are having their own.

  8. Resilience & Independence

Trying unfamiliar activities, adapting to the conditions and being part of a crew builds adaptability, independence and a sense of achievement.

What comes home with them

The tangible memories and takeaways of a Siesta Advisor summer.

  • Camp T-ShirtA Siesta Advisor camp keepsake.
  • Photos & VideosMemories captured throughout the week.
  • New FriendshipsNew people, shared adventures and plenty of stories.
  • New SkillsKayaking, paddle boarding, surfing, snorkelling and more.
  • Stories to TellThe kind of week they will still be talking about afterwards.
  • Salty Hair & Tired SmilesA pretty good sign that they made the most of the week.

Parents' questions

The things you want to know before you book

What ages is Summer Camp for?

Summer Camp is designed for children and teenagers aged 7 to 16, with activities adapted to age, confidence and ability. Children do not need previous experience in kayaking, surfing, SUP or any of our activities. That is what the camp is for.

Do children have to attend for a full week?

Not at all. Single-day and 3-day packages are available on request, subject to availability. Full-week bookings are encouraged: they create stronger group continuity and let children experience the progression and the social side of camp more fully.

Where do we drop off and collect?

At one of our two Siesta Advisor locations in Jávea: the Siesta Advisor Shop near the Arenal beach, or the Siesta Advisor Chiringuito, our beachfront watersports base. The drop-off point depends on the activity scheduled for the day: some adventures begin directly from one of our bases, others require the group to travel together. Parents are told the correct meeting point according to the planned activity.

What food is provided?

Snacks and drinking water for everyone, and a lunch for full-day campers. Children with specific dietary needs are welcome to bring additional snacks; tell us about allergies in advance.

What should my child bring?

Swimwear · Towel · Filled water bottle · High-SPF sunscreen · Water shoes or crocs · Closed-toe shoes for kayaking and coasteering · Hat and sunglasses (ideally with a strap) · Change of dry clothes · A small backpack · Any medication, clearly labelled, and told to us in advance.

What happens if my child misses a day?

If you let us know in advance, we will try to reschedule the missed day for another date during the Summer Camp season, subject to availability.

What happens when the weather changes?

The programme is built around the conditions. If there are no waves we do not force a surf session; if another location offers better conditions we move the adventure there. If the weather prevents an outdoor activity, alternative activities, games and challenges are organised.

What if my child doesn’t know anybody?

That’s completely normal. Many campers arrive without knowing anyone. Our team actively helps children integrate into the group, join in and make new friends from the first day. Jávea brings together families from many countries, so camp is naturally multilingual and multicultural.

Do you follow the same activity schedule every time?

No. The programme changes according to the weather, the sea and the group. We monitor conditions carefully and choose the activities and locations that give the best and safest adventure available that day. If the weather prevents the planned outdoor activity, alternative activities, games and challenges are organised.

What do you need to know about my child?

Please tell us in advance about any medical conditions, allergies, injuries, medication or additional needs, so the team can look after your child properly.
