Calm and comfortable conditions expected.
Some wind or movement expected. Conditions may still be perfectly suitable for activities.
Stronger wind, waves or more active sea conditions may be possible. Routes or departure plans may occasionally be adjusted depending on local conditions.
How the colours are worked out
Each cove gets a comfort score (0–100) from the sustained wind, gusts, wave height, swell, visibility and weather forecast for its exact position — corrected for which way the cove faces. An onshore wind counts for more; a sheltered cliff line counts for less. The colours describe the sea you can expect, not whether an activity will run: that decision is made locally, for each route, on the day.
Forecast data: Open-Meteo (AROME / ICON weather models and the MFWAM wave model), refreshed every 30 minutes. Always a forecast, never a substitute for a guide's eyes on the water.
