  • What ACA and First Aid mean for you

Our kayak guides are trained to the standards of the American Canoe Association, one of the most established paddlesports bodies in the world: technique, rescue, group leadership and decisions when conditions change. Every guide also holds a current first aid certificate. You are led by trained professionals, not just good paddlers.

  • Why ISO certification matters

ISO 9001 is the international standard for quality management and ISO 14001 the standard for environmental management. Certification means the way we plan, run and review every activity, and the way we look after the coastline we work on, is written down, followed and checked by an independent auditor.

What makes this camp special

Designed around progression, not isolated lessons

Each week introduces a specific skill: Tuesday is about learning and practising the technique, Thursday about applying it in real conditions. Children progress through a carefully designed curriculum covering everything from their first whitewater rides to paddling, positioning, pop-ups, turning, wave selection and eventually catching their own waves.

And because the sea never behaves exactly as planned, neither do we. Our weather-proof coaching system adapts each session to the conditions: good waves mean surfing; smaller waves become technique sessions; flat days bring balance, skate-style training and games; and rough conditions become opportunities for ocean theory, surf fitness, safety and rescue skills. Every session has a purpose, even when the Mediterranean decides not to cooperate.

Parents' questions

The things you want to know before you book

Who is Surf Camp for?

Children aged 8 to 16 with basic swimming ability and confidence in the water. Whether they arrive having never touched a surfboard or already catching waves, the coaching adapts as they progress.

When are the sessions?

Tuesdays and Thursdays from 16:30 to 18:15 at Arenal Beach, an after-school programme. Season 1 runs from late September to the beginning of December (in 2026, 22 September to 26 November); Season 2 from the beginning of March to mid-May. Dates vary a little each year.

10 lessons or 20?

The 10-class pack gives consistent coaching and meaningful progression without committing to the complete season. The 20-class programme covers the full curriculum, from the first whitewater rides to catching and riding waves independently, and is the strongest opportunity for progression.

What should my child bring?

A swimsuit, a towel, a change of clothes for afterwards, a water bottle and sunscreen. All essential surfing equipment (board, wetsuit, leash, wax, bodyboards when required) is provided, and there are warm showers.

What happens when there are no waves?

Every session has a purpose. Smaller waves become technique sessions; flat days bring balance, skate-style training and games; rough conditions become ocean theory, surf fitness, safety and rescue skills.

What if my child doesn’t know anybody?

That’s completely normal. Many campers arrive without knowing anyone. Our team actively helps children integrate into the group, join in and make new friends from the first day. Jávea brings together families from many countries, so camp is naturally multilingual and multicultural.

Do you follow the same activity schedule every time?

No. The programme changes according to the weather, the sea and the group. We monitor conditions carefully and choose the activities and locations that give the best and safest adventure available that day. If the weather prevents the planned outdoor activity, alternative activities, games and challenges are organised.

What do you need to know about my child?

Please tell us in advance about any medical conditions, allergies, injuries, medication or additional needs, so the team can look after your child properly.
