A 16th-century watchtower, a closed cove far below and the Illa del Descobridor sitting in the sea like a ship.
Also known as Mirador de l'Ambolo
The Torre d'Ambolo was built in the 16th century to watch for pirates, and it still watches: it is a listed monument, though privately owned, and it gives this mirador its shape. Below it lies Cala Ambolo, once Jávea's most secret beach and now closed to the public because of rockfalls, and just offshore the Illa del Descobridor, a flat-topped islet that looks from here like a ship at anchor.
The panorama runs both ways along the coast: north-east to the Cap de la Nau, south-west along the Benitatxell cliffs to Moraira. It faces south, so it is the sunset mirador of the route, and the last stop before the road drops to Granadella.
