“Beautiful Crystal Clear Waters”

We took a group of six on the Kayak Cala Tango trip at 8.30am and it was fantastic! Our tour guides were superb, fluent in three languages and looked after the entire group of about twenty paddlers amazingly well. Beautiful crystal clear waters, fabulous coastline and a good workout to get the day going! Great value for money, highly recommended.

“Amazing Experience!”

What an amazing experience! The kayak tour with Siesta Advisor was definitely one of the highlights of our trip. Our guides, Luc and Callum, were super friendly, enthusiastic, and created a great atmosphere from the very beginning. They gave clear instructions, made sure everyone felt comfortable, and shared lots of interesting information along the way. The surroundings were beautiful and the kayaking itself was so much fun. One of the best moments was definitely jumping off a cliff — a little scary, but incredibly exciting and something that made the tour even more memorable!

Questions

Kayaking in Jávea: your questions

Which kayak tour in Jávea is best for beginners and families?

Kayak Cala Tango: our easiest tour, from the Primer Montañar with free parking, open from 1 June to 15 October. Out of season, Kayak Granadella is the classic family choice. Children from 4 years old can join with an adult; everyone must be able to swim confidently.

Can I rent a kayak in Jávea?

Yes – from our Chiringuito on the Primer Montañar, €20 per person for 1 hour (€30 for 2, €40 for 3), from 1 June to 15 October. You must be 18 to rent alone. Renting kayaks is not allowed at Cala Granadella, and we don't rent at Portixol.

Can I kayak from Cala Granadella?

Yes, on a guided tour: Kayak Granadella, Kayak Cala en Caló and Kayak Cova dels Orguens all start on the beach at Granadella and run all year. In summer, access to Granadella is controlled once the car park is full, so arrive early.

Do I need kayak experience?

No. Most of our guests are first-timers: the guide teaches the basics on the beach before you launch, and there are about 8–10 guests per guide.

Which tour has the most sea caves?

Kayak Cova dels Orguens: from Granadella via the Cova del Llop Marí and the Pirates' Cave to the Cova dels Orguens below Cabo de la Nao.

When is the best time to kayak in Jávea?

May, June, September and October: warm water and quieter coves. In July and August, book a morning departure and arrive early.

Where do I park?

At the Primer Montañar both the La Grava and Primer Montañar car parks are free. At Granadella parking is paid (€9 a day) and fills early in summer. Each tour page explains how to get there.

What marine life will we see?

Octopus, moray eels, rainbow wrasse and shoals of fish around the rocks; on lucky days, dolphins – and in early summer fin whales pass the Cabo de San Antonio. Seahorses live in the Posidonia but are very rarely seen.
